Actress Kim Go-eun shared her thoughts on playing a character of the same age in her upcoming film.
On the afternoon of the 23rd, Kim Go-eun attended the press conference and media screening for the movie "Laws of Attraction" at Megabox COEX in Seoul. She expressed her special connection with the character, saying, “Jae-hee is the same age as me. It was my first time playing a character of the same age, so I felt a connection. I even used a phone that was released during my first year of university, which I really liked.”
Kim Go-eun plays Jae-hee, a free-spirited character with an unconventional approach to love. She mentioned, “I wondered why I didn’t have as much fun during that time of my life. Acting as Jae-hee allowed me to feel a sense of vicarious satisfaction.”
In the film, she portrays Jae-hee’s journey from her early twenties to early thirties, showcasing a wide range of emotions. She added, “Jae-hee has a very vibrant personality, and I wanted to capture that well. Jae-hee’s free-spirited nature sometimes leads to misunderstandings, so I aimed to express not only her bright side but also the layers beneath.”
"Laws of Attraction" follows the story of Jae-hee (played by Kim Go-eun), a free-spirited soul who doesn't care about what others think, and Heung-soo (played by Noh Sang-hyun), a man accustomed to keeping his distance from the world. Together, they navigate their unique approach to love. The film is based on the short story "Jae-hee" from the 2019 novel collection by author Park Sang-young.
The movie is set to release on October 1st.
