North Korea conducts artillery firing exercises in the northwest islands for two consecutive days... About 60 shots

North Korea conducted artillery fire training in the northwestern island region today (6th).

The Joint Chiefs of Staff announced that North Korea fired about 60 rounds in the northwest of Yeonpyeong Island from about 4 to 5 p.m. today.

North Korea's artillery fire in the northwestern island area took place for two consecutive days following yesterday.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff announced that there was no military response today.

Previously, North Korea fired approximately 200 artillery rounds in the area of Cape Jangsan, north of Baengnyeong Island, and Cape Mountain, north of Yeonpyeong Island, yesterday, and our military fired approximately 400 artillery rounds, twice as many as North Korea's.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff issued a stern warning that North Korea's continued artillery fire within the no-hostile zone is an act that threatens peace on the Korean Peninsula and increases tensions, and strongly urges it to stop immediately.

He also warned that if North Korea threatens our people with continuous artillery fire within the no-hostile zone, our military will take appropriate military action.
