CGV is receiving a warm response from audiences through its independently released films.
According to CGV on the 11th, as of the end of September this year, the number of viewers for works presented exclusively by CGV recorded 2.13 million, more than doubling the number in 2022, which recorded 980,000.
Looking at each work, 'Oksu Station Ghost', which ranked first among Korean horror films released this year, mobilized 250,000 people. In addition, 'Marui Video' and 'Body Collection.zip', which ranked 2nd and 3rd among Korean horror films, were also exclusively shown at CGV. It was screened in response to the needs of audiences who wanted to see horror movies in theaters, and in the case of 'Ghost at Oksu Station', it was released in April, the off-season for horror movies, and attracted attention as a box office success.
Thanks to the Japanese animation fever, 'Demon Slayer: The Gathering of the Prefecture, and To the Potter's Village', which was released exclusively, attracted more than 530,000 viewers, along with 'Suzume's Lockdown', 'The First Slam Dunk', and 'Detective Conan: The Black Iron Man'. , ranked 5th in the box office following ‘Crayon Crayon Shin-chan: Animal Summoning Ninja Belly Guard’. 'Chicken Rabbit: In Search of Lost Treasure' ranked 3rd among kids animations released in March, when the new semester begins, over the past 10 years.
'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince', which was re-released in 4DX, which can be seen in CGV's special technology theater, and 'The First Slam Dunk', which was screened in IMAX version, were also well-received by audiences.
In October, two genre films that will target audiences' tastes will be screened exclusively at CGV. The caper-genre crime entertainment film 'Beautiful Girlfriend', starring Uhm Jung-hwa, opens to audiences on the 11th. Storyteller Jang Hang-jun's mystery psychological thriller 'Open the Door' will also be released on the 25th. It has been officially invited to the 'Korean Cinema Today - Panorama' section of the 27th Busan International Film Festival and is raising audience expectations, with all tickets sold out.
