BTS V ranks 2nd on Billboard 200 with solo album ‘Layover’

BTS' V's first solo album 'Layover' ranked 2nd on Billboard's main album chart 'Billboard 200'.

According to a Billboard chart preview article on the 17th (local time), 'Layover' ranked second after pop star Olivia Rodrigo's 'Guts'. 'Layover' recorded album sales of 100,000 copies in the United States during the first week of release.

'Billboard 200' calculates album consumption rankings by adding together the sales volume of traditional albums such as physical albums, the number of streams converted to album sales (SEA), and the number of digital music downloads converted to album sales (TEA).

V's Billboard record is tied for the highest K-pop solo record, as team members Jimin and Suga each ranked second with their solo albums. According to Hanteo Chart, a domestic album chart, V became the first K-pop solo singer to sell 2.1 million copies in the first week of release.
