Former figure skater Yuna Kim becomes a 'gomsin' (short for rubber shoes, referring to women waiting for a boyfriend or lover who has served in the military) following her husband Go Woo-rim's military enlistment.
Her agency, Beat Interactive, announced, "Forestella Go Woorim will enlist in the Army on November 20th. She will faithfully perform her national defense duties as a member of the Army Military Band." For safety reasons, Go Woo-rim's entrance location and time will not be made public, and there will be no separate events.
Go Woo-rim said through the official fan cafe, "I felt very sorry because I felt like I had always given our fans concerns that were not concerns since my debut until now, but I think the time has finally come to solve the homework in my and everyone else's hearts." Fortunately, I was able to successfully complete the Forestella Festival and the rest of the performances and events before enlisting, so I am very grateful,” he said about his enlistment.
He added, “I will return after completing my national defense duties with flying colors and dignity.” He added, “I will return quickly and continue my activities as a full member.”
Go Woo-rim married former figure skater Kim Yu-na in October last year. Yuna Kim sent her husband to the military just one year into her newlywed life.
Go Woo-rim has been working as Forestella since appearing on JTBC's 'Phantom Singer Season 2' in 2017. Forestella released its second mini album 'Unfinished' on the 8th. Before his enlistment, the late Woorim had completed his official schedule, including the '2023 Forest Stella Festival'.
