Girl group New Jeans' debut album 'New Jeans' has surpassed 1 billion cumulative streams on Spotify, the world's largest music platform, their agency Adore announced on the 29th.
As of the 27th of this month, the total cumulative number of plays for the songs featured on 'New Genes' was 1,076,129. This is 422 days since the album was released on August 1st last year.
Adore commented, “New Jeans is the first K-pop girl group to record 1 billion streams on Spotify with their debut album,” adding, “This is even more meaningful in that it was achieved with only four songs.”
The songs included in this album include ‘Hype Boy’ 409,113,783 times, ‘Attention’ 295,599,664 times, and ‘Cookie’ 100 million 700 million times. All of them recorded hundreds of millions of streams, including 12,334,385 and ‘Hurt’ 123,712,297.
In addition, the single 'OMG', released in January of this year, is also expected to reach 1 billion streams in total. The combined cumulative number of plays of all songs released by New Jeans since its debut exceeded 2.6 billion.
